Sample Promos and Press Releases
1. Short promo - in third person
National Hug Your Kids Day is Monday, July 21. It was founded by Michelle Nichols to spread the word to all working parents to ignore all the talk about "work-life balance." Instead, she recommends you prioritize and put "family first and work a close second."
Ms. Nichols speaks from credibility. Ten years ago, her son, Mark, died suddenly from brain cancer. He was 8 1/2-years old. She started this holiday in his honor.
She also wrote a book called, "Hug Your Kids Today! 5 Key Lessons for Every Working Parent" that you can buy on Amazon.com, BN.com or her website, www.HugYourKidsToday.com.
2. Another short promo - in first person:
Like many moms and dads in Northern Nevada, I work. If you're a parent and you have a job, you know the struggle of trying to be successful at work and a good parent at home too.
There's a lot of talk recently about "work-life balance." Ignore it. It's the wrong conversation. It's crazy to try to balance your livelihood and your life. If you lose your job, you can get another job. If you lost a child...
I know. I lost one. His name was Mark and he died suddenly ten years ago at age 8 1/2, from brain cancer. The doctors thought he just had the flu, and 11 days later, my son died. He was bright, funny and kind - and he didn't live to start the fourth grade.
In honor of all of America's children, I founded "National Hug Your Kids Day," which is Monday, July 21 this year. There will be nationwide billboards, YouTube videos, a book launch, and some special events.
In Reno, we're hosting "The Biggest Little Hug," at 5:30 PM on Monday, July 21 at West Wingfield Park. For more information: www.HugYourKidsToday.com
