Forget "Work-Life Balance" - How to Really Love Your Family and Thrive at Work

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

If you have children, forget "work-life balance" - it's the wrong goal. Instead, learn how to prioritize your family first and your work a close second. Your business will thrive and you'll be happier too because you'll have less guilt, worry and stress, and you will experience more focus and sanity.

The presenter speaks from credibility - in 1998, her 8 1/2-year old son, Mark, died suddenly from brain cancer. Learn the five key lessons for every working parent that she learned the hard way.

This message is for mothers, fathers, stepparents, grandparents and employers.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Professional working parents - engineers, salespeople, lawyers, doctors, accountants, admistrators, executives - who have children living at home, or human resources professionals responsible for employee retention and attraction of key employees with children living at home.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Attendees shall be able to:
1. Discover which of the typical concerns of working parents are most challenging for them
2. Understand why “balancing” work and life is the wrong goal and instead to prioritize their family first and their work a close second
3. Learn 5 Key Lessons for every working parent that will help them put keep their priorities
4. Share ideas and solutions with other working parents

BENEFITS TO THE EMPLOYER

Decreased Human Resources costs and Increased Employee Happiness

** Increased productivity of all employees - When working parent employees hug their family members before work, the employee is more focused on the job and has higher productivity. In addition, they have fewer distractions, like divorces and problems with their children.

** Increased utilization of key employees - When key employees can't accept a transfer or promotion because their children aren't coping well, the employer is the ultimate loser. This presentation helps companies utilize their key employees at their highest capacity.

** Increased retention of key employees - By the time an employee develops into a "key employee," they are often married and have children. This presentation gives parent employees the tools to be successful at home and at work so key employees don't have to quit or work part-time because of family issues.

BENEFITS TO THE AUDIENCE MEMBERS

** Decreased frustration and increased peace-of-mind -
"Work-Life Balance" is a hot topic today because it's a virtually impossible goal but employees keep trying to reach it, fall short, and fell like they're failing. This presentation helps them see a different paradigm. Instead of balancing, it promotes prioritizing.

WILL YOU HAVE FRIES BOOKS WITH THAT PRESENTATION?

To increase the impact and value of Ms. Nichols' presentation, you may want to consider a bulk order of the HYKT handbooks - one for each working parent in the audience or managers who have working parents on their staffs. Be sure to ask us about this cost-effective resource.
