What is Global Hug Your Kids Day?

Global Hug Your Kids Day encourages every mother and father around the world to hug their children every day. It's listed in Chase's Calendar of Events, published by McGraw-Hill. It is always held the third Monday in July.
It is celebrated by parents worldwide. It is funded by companies that hire Michelle Nichols to give talks on work-life issues and partner with the holiday for HR- and joint-marketing programs.
The holiday was founded in 2008 by Michelle Nichols, a 25-year sales veteran and longtime Business Week columnist. Her son, Mark, died suddenly at 8 1/2 years old from

The 2011 holiday was carried on CNN prime-time news, NBC-TV, and 753 radio stations.
The 2010 holiday went global, courtesy of Pfizer, across the Philippines.
The 2009 holiday was celebrated in 28 states across the U.S.
